The Main Line Chinese Culture Center (MLCCC) is proud to announce the establishment of “the Song Li China Culture Foundation” (SLCCF). Bestowed upon MLCCC by the generous donation from Dr. Song Li, the purpose of the SLCCF is to support the MLCCC’s missions to serve the local families of the greater Philadelphia community. This Foundation will be in principal practiced and executed to promote the heritage of the Chinese Language & culture and enhance the understanding & exchange of the Chinese culture with others in our community. In line with these principals, we will consider the following options to maximize the benefits of this fund in serving the families:
I, to create a Scholarship to encourage students to learn the Chinese language and culture through MLCCC’s multiple venues such as weekend school and summer camp.
II, to offer limited financial assistance to support families in need for their children to enroll in the classes such as Chinese as a Second Language, folk dances, etc.
III, to support MLCCC’s educational outreach programs, from language classes to immersion summer Camp to cultural exhibits, bringing the Culture to the communities and educational entities, senior centers, etc.
IV, to support MLCCC’s community cultural outreach initiatives such as the hosting annual Chinese New Year Gala and Culture Fair, and the celebration of traditional Chinese holidays in partnership with the local community.
V, to create a rich mentorship environment for the adolescence to volunteer & serve, and thrive on becoming the most competent citizens.
In summary, the Song Li Chinese Culture Foundation will immensely enhance both the scope and depth of MLCCC’s services, alleviate the financial burdens of operations and provide encouragement and assistance to the families enrolled in our programs. In turns, the true philanthropic spirits of the entire Song Li Family will be broadly exemplified through those venues MLCCC proudly offers.
